Aluminium-bronze butterfly valves for Qatar Petroleum's newly built dry dock

South Korea's Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) has built a 405 meter long dry dock in Qatar. For this project, ERIKS supplied special ECON® butterfly valves with electrical actuator.
ERIKS was selected as the supplier because it was capable of producing these special butterfly valves on extremely short notice. Furthermore, ERIKS is present locally with offices in Dubai and Qatar. This was essential for after-sales care, maintenance and operation. The short lines of communication, high-value products and rapid delivery were critical for HSHI.

For this project, ERIKS delivered specially manufactured butterfly valves made of a nickel-aluminium-bronze alloy. An extremely short delivery horizon was used here: 18 weeks instead of the usual 27. The delivery also comprises a complete package of products: electrical and hydraulic actuators, check valves and fire fighting valves with UL/FM approval. All connections were executed in conformance with the JIS standard and various valves were also subject to Lloyd's inspection and approval. ERIKS took care of all of the 3-D drawings and the engineering. The systems were tested and made operational upon their commissioning. A special team was formed for this project, with people from various disciplines.
